Dopamine is a free and open source audio player for Windows, developed by Digimezzo. It describes itself as an "[a]udio player which tries to make organizing and listening to music as simple and pretty as possible."[4] It is based on the CSCore audio library, which in turn uses the .NET Framework.
History
Dopamine was started in 2014 by Raphaël Godart and was originally created in Visual Basic .NET.[5] Godart created Digimezzo in November 2015[6], while Dopamine was still in development. Dopamine first released in June 2016. In September 2016, Dopamine was made open-source on GitHub corresponding with the release of Dopamine 1.1, which was written in .NET.[5] Dopamine 2.0 was released in January 2020, with numerous changes and additions.[7]. As of 2021, Dopamine 3 is currently being developed in Electron, allowing cross-platform support.[8] A preview of Dopamine 3 is available to download on their website.
