Dorothy Kalungu Mulalami Kasonde is a medical doctor.
Career[edit]
Kasonde a physician who specialises in kidney diseases and hypertension. She has over seventeen years with HIV management.[1] She is a qualified occupational health practitioner and runs her own practice called Mutti Medical Centre.[2]
Kasonde is also the current president of the of Rotary Club of Pamodzi.[3] She was one of the five doctors who treated Zambia's fifth president Edgar Chagwa Lungu when he fell ill in March 2015. [4] As of March 2017 she was vice-chairperson of the board at Zambian Open University. [5]
Family[edit]
She was married to Joseph Kasonde who passed away[6]and has three children Mubanga, Linda and Mutale.[7] Her daughter, Linda Kasonde is the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) president[8]. Dr. Kasonde is also the mother in-law of former member of parliament for Katuba constituency Jonas Shakafuswa[9].

- Masters dissertation was 'Aetiological and pathophysiological implications of zinc in diabetes mellitus: A study of plasma and urinary zinc levels in indigenous diabetic Zambians.[10]
- She wrote Global Compact Zambia HIV/AIDS Workplace Programme.[11]
