Bharat Ratna Dr.M.G.R Bus Stand, Tirunelveli popularly known as Tirunelveli New Bus Stand is the Central bus terminus for Mofussil buses in Tirunelveli, the other busstand being Junction Periyar Bus Stand which is meant for Town buses in the city.
History[edit]
The New Bus stand was opened in the year 2003. It was later renamed as Bharat Ratna Dr.M.G.R Bus stand. This is renovated and development works started in the year 2020 under Smart City project.
Bus bays[edit]
Initially, this busstand had 2 bus fingers with 4 platforms each having 13 bus bays. Now with redevelopment of the busstand, the total number of bays has been increased to 84 bays in 6 platforms.
