Dream Empire Music (abbr. D.E.M) is a Nigerian record label founded by an entertainment businessman Chimaobi C Mbataku in 2014.[2] Dream Empire Music services include music publishing, music recording, merchandising, audiovisual content, branding, and management. The label currently houses artists like Majeeed, Verchi, and Lisa Viola. Artists formerly signed to the label, include F2.

History[edit]

In 2014, Chimaobi C Mbataku founded DC Records as a music promotional company. In 2020, he re-branded the company and began operating as Dream Empire Music, as a record label. In the same year, he unveiled Verchi, and F2 as its first signee.[3] In 2021, the company launched operations in Lagos, with its corporate headquarter and added Majeeed, and Lisa Viola to its roster.[4]

Dream Empire Music was established to help young people with the same idea accomplish their dreams, especially the talented ones, says Chimaobi the label CEO to Olushola Victor of The Nation.[5] Following the re-branding of the imprint, Dream Empire Music CEO, Chimaobi C Mbataku appoints Raymond Ifie as managing director, and head of A&R of Dream Empire Music.[6]

A year after Majeeed signed with the label, he released his first project Bitter Sweet,[7] which spawned the hit track "Yawa No Dey End" which peaked at number 41 on Official Nigeria Top 100. On 25 May 2023, the label signed an exclusive distribution partnership deal with EMPIRE regarding Majeeed's second project Cheers To Life., which peaked at number 34 on Nigeria's Top 50 Albums.[8][9]
