Andrew "Drew" Jacksich (September 22, 1946 – November 12, 2024) was a railfan photographer who was best known for taking photos of Amtrak, the Southern Pacific Railroad, the Union Pacific Railroad, and other railroads.[1][2]

Biography

Born on September 22, 1946, to Andrew Matthew Jacksich and Lucienne Linnebrinnen in San Jose, California at the old O’Connor Hospital. He attended Hester Elementary School and Hoover Junior High School before graduating from Lincoln High School in 1964 and soon attended the San Jose State University. Jacksich applied for a job as a primary photographer for Lincoln's newspaper and yearbook, as well as for all of the athletics. Jacksich's photography skills were mainly centered on his love of trains, which he had thousands of slides of, as well as authored a book on trains, most commonly steam locomotives. He applied for a job as a member of the Central Coast Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society in Santa Clara. Jacksich drove trucks for almost 40 years for Lindsays (now One Workplace).[3]
