Overview[edit]
In 1880, Charles Dryden and Noah Palmer founded a rock candy company. They came together to create Dryden & Palmer, the rock candy. In the early days, the company supplied various forms of crystals and syrups for cough-cold remedies, soda fountain syrups, and confectionery treats. Every bar had its creation named Rock & Rye, rock candy dissolved in rye whiskey to cure the patrons' colds.
In 1960s, the company introduced rock candy on the stick. The product was sold in large quantity and later, the company added different flavors.
In 2006, Richardson Brands Company acquired the Dryden and Palmer; however, Roses Brands acquired Richardson Brands Company in 2020. The company operates in 50 states of America and other countries around the world.
