DynGen Hunter is an Indie role-playing game. The game is a grid-based, third-person game inspired by classic 1990s games such as Pokémon and The Legend of Zelda. It was released on August 28, 2013, for iOS and Windows. It was later released for Android and Firefox OS. The name is a play on words of Dungeon Hunter and from DYNamically GENerated.[1]
Gameplay
DynGen Hunter has a game world that is both persistent and identical for all players. The engine makes use of procedural world generation that creates an infinite stream of in-game content which is the same for every player, meaning that separate players can find the same landmarks and NPCs.[2]
The gameplay consists of classic roguelike elements, such as exploration, looting, and quest completion to advance the player's character. The loot and quests in the game are generated procedurally, as are the environments in which the player explores.[3]
