Dynastic (previously Dynastic Development) is a mobile software development company incorporated in Delaware.[1] It has headquarters in Toronto, Canada.[3] It operates Dynastic Repo, which is a software repository included with iOS jailbreaks, allowing developers to submit free and commercial software.[4]
Known members of Dynastic include Jamie Bishop, Ayden Panhuyzen (CEO), and HoSay (CFO, pseudonymous).[5][6][7]
Products[edit]
ShortLook[edit]
ShortLook extends the iPhone's functionality to show incoming notifications with a new full-screen design.[8] It takes advantage of the OLED screen introduced in iPhone X.[9]
Services[edit]
Dynastic Repo[edit]
The Dynastic Repo repository lets developers upload software for jailbroken devices. As of May 2020, it is open for all software developers to submit products.[4] As of January 15, 2021, it hosts a total 119 products.[10] It is included by default with new iOS jailbreaks inside the Cydia package manager.[11][12]
canvas.place[edit]
Dynastic created and operated the canvas.place website, inspired by Reddit's Place social experiment.[citation needed] It has since been shut down.[13]
Research[edit]
Dynastic operates a research blog, which publishes security research articles focused on iOS.[14] In March 2019, it released an article authored by Jamie Bishop and Ayden Panhuyzen demonstrating an approach for bypassing code signing on modern iOS versions.[15]
