e-shram is an informal worker database launched by the Government of India on 26 August 2021.[1] It is a website that records the information about 380,000,000 informal workers across India. Those who register as members of this database, will be given an electronic card with a 12 digit unique number. The purpose of this database is to directly integrate the government's social security programs for registered construction workers, domestic workers, sidewalk vendors, mercenaries and migrant workers.
