ENFOS, Inc. is a multinational enterprise software company with headquarters in San Mateo, California. The company develops solutions that minimize risk and lower the costs to comply with environmental liability management matters, public disclosure standards such as ASC410,[1] ASC450,[2] and IAS 37, corporate governance mandates and environmental regulations such as CERCLA (Superfund), RCRA, Brownfields, and State cleanup programs.

The ENFOS software-as-a-service (SaaS) web-based solution provides clients with technology to manage data, documents, transactions, workflow, visualizations and reports for core processes associated with environmental remediation, reclamation and asset decommissioning, including supply chain management, purchase to pay, cost recovery, audits, site and project management, financial planning and budgeting, environmental data management, document management, and regulated asset compliance.[3]

ENFOS was founded in October 2000 by president and chief executive officer Craig Modesitt,[4] with the financial backing of Farid Dibachi, board member and founder of Wavetron Microsystems, Diba, and Arzoon. Roger Well,[5] current executive vice president and chief operating officer, joined the company in 2001. Sandeep Digra, current vice president and chief technical officer, also joined the company in 2001.

In addition to customers in North America and Europe, in 2012, ENFOS reached an agreement with Beijing Shougang Automation Information Technology, a Shougang Corporation enterprise, for the company to become a reseller of the ENFOS platform in China. The partnership will include the development of features customized specifically for Chinese users.[6]

ENFOS is SAP Netweaver XI/PI certified through SAP Labs U.S. and is a member of SAP's PartnerEdge program.[7]

Since 2010 ENFOS has hosted an annual conference called "The ENFOS Experience", where environmental risk industry and consulting experts come together for two days to share practices and case studies related to the ENFOS solution.

Along with its San Mateo headquarters, ENFOS has offices in Naperville, Illinois and Beijing, China.

ENFOS clients cover a wide range of industrial sectors such as Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Manufacturing, Utilities, Rail, and Convenience Stores. Some clients include Pacific Gas & Electric, Canadian National Railway,[8] BP,[9] Total, ConocoPhillips, Valero,[10] NuStar,[11] and RACER Trust.[12]

Typical ENFOS clients are required to comply with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission regulations as set by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, Accounting Standard Codifications ASC 410 Asset Retirement Obligations, Environmental Obligations and ASC 450 Contingencies for Environmental Liabilities. Non U.S. clients are required to comply with the International Accounting Standards Board IAS 37 for Provisions, Contingent Liabilities and Contingent Assets.
