EVRY India Pvt. Ltd. (formerly known as SPAN Infotech (India) Pvt. Ltd.)[1] is a Bangalore, India-based software services company and a provider of IT and product development services. SPAN has changed its name to EVRY India,[2] coherent with its parent company, EVRY ASA, a global Norwegian IT player.
History[edit]
In 1993, SPAN Infotech, now EVRY India (EI), was founded by Pradeep Grama, Pramod Grama, Prakash Grama and Naganand Doraswamy,[3] starting with only around 20 employees. At present, the company has about 2,500 employees working from software development and business centers in Basavangudi and Banaskankari areas of Bangalore as well as from its Chandigarh SEZ facility. EI’s offshore development centers in India are certified for ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 27001:2013.[4] EI is also now certified as PCI-DSS [5] compliant. The company is PCMM Level 5 appraised in addition to CMMI Level 5[6][7] and is among the first five IT services companies in the world to be appraised at these combined levels. Established in 1993, EI’s has office locations in the United States, India, Singapore and group offices in Europe.
On July 1, 2008, EVRY India was acquired by EDB Business Partner ASA, a Norwegian information technology group, one of the largest IT groups in Europe. EDB acquired 50.1 per cent stake [8] in EI for US$3.8 million (about Rs. 15.2 crore. EDB had over 4,600 employees and a turnover of over $1 billion at the time of acquiring the majority stake in EI.
Merger[edit]
EDB formally merged with ErgoGroup, another leading Nordic IT firm headquartered in Oslo, on 14 October 2010. Though the newly merged company was initially christened EDB ErgoGroup ASA, it later changed its name to "EVRY" on 17 March 2012. The merged IT giant now has over 10,000 employees across 135 offices in 16 countries, which includes EI.[9][10]
