The EXNESS Group was founded in 2008 in New Zealand. A company office was opened in the same year in Russian Federation. In 2012 a company office was opened in Cyprus.[1]

2008 - Company foundation; purchase of license to use the MetaTrader 4 trading platform from MetaQuotes Software Corp.
2009 - EXNESS enters the markets of CIS and Asian countries: China, Malaysia, Indonesia. In April an SSL certificate was obtained for the official website. September — The company obtained an exchange intermediary license in the Russian Federation. Introduction of instant withdrawal of funds from trading accounts.[2]

The EXNESS Group offers software products from MetaQuotes Software, the vendor of the FOREX trading terminals MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. Since August 2012, in addition to basic financial services, EXNESS has offered access to the interbank market using ECN accounts (ECN - Electronic Communications Network). Since then the company has operated as both a market maker and an ECN broker, i.e. it enables trading on the interbank market in the ECN system through a MetaTrader 4 terminal.[4]

EXNESS (CY) LIMITED's operations are governed by the laws of Cyprus. EXNESS (CY) LIMITED operates under License Number 178/12, which was issued by CySEC (Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission), Cyprus — a government agency that regulates the activities of investment companies.,,[10][11][12] The Russian company EXNESS LLC is a member of the Self-Regulatory Organization Non Profit Partnership "Center for Regulation in OTC Financial Instruments and Technologies" (SRO NP CRFIN).
