EXODUS (NGO)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

EXODUS is a non-governmental organization based in South Korea. It seeks to bring international fugitive Jung Myung Seok to justice and to oppose what it sees as a destructive cult, his religion Providence. It mostly consists of former members of Providence who believe they have seen its true nature.

History

It was originally formed in the 1990s by friends of Do-hyoung Kim, someone who publicly spoke out against Jung Myung Seok and Providence, as the Do-hyoung Kim Protection Association (DKPA). When media attention on Jung Myung Seok and Providence grew, it split into three groups: DKPA, EXODUS, and the Solidarity of People for the Sake of Justice (SPJ) because many more people joined the movement. DKPA focused on protecting Do-hyoung Kim, EXODUS was made up of former members, and SPJ consisted of those who were not former members. Later, they merged, adopting the name most familiar to the public, EXODUS.
