Earl Blijd was born in 1960 in Willemstad, Curacao. In 1978 Earl came to the Netherlands to study chemistry at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. A year later he met Kung Fu teacher Trieu Trung La. Earl took a trial lesson on November 1, 1979, and it hit the spot, he became fascinated with this martial art, and since then his life has been dedicated to Kung Fu / Wushu. In 1984, Sifu Trieu appointed Trung La Earl as his assistant; in 1985, sifu Trieu retired and Earl took over from Bao Trieu.[1]
