History

EasyRide app was publicly released on 15 November in 2015.

Establishment

Asia Mobile Technologies LLC was established by young Mongolians from different industries. Amar Baatartsogt, chief executive, said, “We realized that the Mongolian market was lacking a platform that connects passengers with drivers. Hence, we decided to invest our time in building this venture,” said in an interview by GoGoNews.

Reception

EasyRide was well received by the public, with people testing the app and seeing real drivers accept their requests.

Its popularity is explained by high demand in taxi service and safety concerns over private cars in the streets of Ulaanbaatar.

Regulatory Issues

Like many other international ride sourcing services across the globe, EasyRide faces regulatory hurdles. Talks were initiated with the city hall in order to create a legal environment for ride sourcing platforms.
