Echobox

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Echobox is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) company headquartered in London, England.[1] The company uses AI and machine learning to automate social media publishing for news publishers, broadcasters and media organisations.[2][3]

Echobox uses machine learning technology in the form of a neural network.[1] Using a series of algorithms, the neural network is able to discern patterns from large amounts of data and ‘learn’ with increasing specificity the complex dynamics of a publication’s audience engagement patterns.[1] Echobox uses both public data and publishers’ audience analytics data to tailor its proprietary algorithms.[4]

Publishers currently using Echobox include: The Guardian, Newsweek, The Times, Le Monde, The Sydney Morning Herald, The South China Morning Post, Wired and Clarín.[5][6]

As of 2021, Echobox has over 80 members of staff and more than 1000 clients in over 100 countries.[6]

In 2017, Echobox used its analytics to predict the outcome of the French general election.[7] The company created a French Election Tracker powered by AI, with the assumption that the most important metric was not which candidate received the greatest number of headlines, but which of these articles generated the most engagement on social media.[8] Echobox accurately predicted the eventual distribution of votes by within one percentage point for four out of five candidates, with the results being so successful, founder Antoine Amann claimed, that one of the candidates used their service for their own campaign analysis.[9]
