Eden Housing was a leading privately owned Pakistani construction company with an asset base said to be over 6 billion PKR. It was doing a good business until 2009. From 2009, they changed their business practices and started fraudulent projects, simply to keep people's money. They initiated projects only to appear to be working, and sold over 2000 residential and commercial plots that have never been handed over to the buyers. Mr. Dr. Amjad, who owns Eden Housing, is a close relative of former Chief Justice Iftikhat Choudhry. Due to these high-profile relatives and a strong background, people are unable to obtain possession of their plots and also cannot get their money back. EDEN Housing is now a notorious name in the market and people no longer trust the company. Despite numerous applications to the NAB and the Government of Punjab, buyers have been unable to obtain any resolution due to the company's resources.
History
In 1991, Developers Group was one of the construction companies in Pakistan. It merged as Eden Housing from that time. Since then, it has been running its construction and real estate projects. Race View Villas was its first project. (Eden Gardens, Eden Lands, Eden Lands Extension) They began these three projects with the commitment to deliver these houses and developed plots within three and a half years.
