The popularity of video game Minecraft in education system touched new heights when[1] Microsoft announced its investment in Minecraft Education Edition in April 2016. The announcement also featured that the new format would be available in schools from May 2016.

Initial Years[edit]

The announcement was made to further expand on its investment in the game Minecraft, which Microsoft has bought in 2014 for about $2.5 billion. It was rumored that Microsoft[2] at the same time had acquired another learning game called MinecraftEdu for an undisclosed amount. The new learning game, acquired by Microsoft was produced by an organization called Teacher Gaming LLC and allowed teachers to use Minecraft in the classroom. The new game MinecraftEdu[3] came equipped with a library of lessons and activities that helped in teaching subjects like STEM, history, language and even art.

Adoption[edit]

The schools, universities and other higher education institutions[4] around the world adopted Minecraft Education Edition, popularly known as M:EE or simply MEE create awareness among the students and to find real-time solutions to the climate crisis[5] water crisis and other life-altering problems in the world.

Down Under also incorporated Minecraft in their education curriculum.[6]

With the increase in popularity, the dedicated summer camps were introduced to teach the kids the essentials and the basics of Minecraft APK Mediafire.[7] Educational institutions in Middle East like Aldar Academies[8] also incorporated Minecraft in their curriculum to ensure child-centric education[9] was promoted for better future.

Benefits of Minecraft in education were making news. And the schools, universities and other higher education institutions[4] around the world  thought about other ways to incorporate Minecraft gameplay to create awareness among the students and to find real-time solutions to the climate crisis[5], water crisis and other life-altering problems in the world.
