Effie Morales (mononymously known as Effie within the series)[3] portrayed by Alix Lapri,[4][5] is a fictional character from the Starz crime drama, Power[6][2] and its spin-off and sequel, Power Book II: Ghost. She is a drug dealer and a former student at Choate where she supposedly had Tariq St. Patrick expelled from.[7]
Backstory[edit]
It has been hinted in an Instagram Live by the showrunner, Courtney A. Kemp that the background story of Effie is yet to come to light in the third season of the series.[8][9]
Storyline[edit]
Power[edit]
Season 6[edit]
Before her debut appearance, she blackmailed Brayden Weston (Gianni Paolo) into letting her meet Brayden's connect and if the connect declines then she threatened to tell on their drug operation to the feds.[6]
Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) knocked on Effie's door and they had an argument mainly about why Tariq must stop selling drugs at school but Tariq was clearly not going to stop. That's when Tariq made an offer to Effie that its either she talks, keep on telling people how to live their lives or she could join him and make money together.
She walked in Tariq and Brayden counting cash and celebrating their progress.
She went on and had Tariq kicked out of school for selling drugs.[7]
Power Book II: Ghost[edit]
Season 1[edit]
During the sex week period and parents weekend on Stanfield campus, Effie showed up at Tariq's room while he was with Lauren Baldwin (Paige Hurd), Lauren had to leave as Effie had a business proposal for Tariq but Tariq turned down the offer because he did not trust Effie as she got him expelled at his previous school. Tariq later contacted Effie with a change of mind, they literally kissed and made up and got to work together, they made quickly sold drugs amounting to fifty thousand dollars.[10]
She and Tariq had an agreement that they would meet up but Tariq ran into some problems and his life was threatened by a GTG member sent by Cane Tejada, Tariq was saved by Francis "2-Bit" Johnson (Michael J. Ferguson) when he drowned the GTG member to death.[10]
He texted Effie that he can't see her, Effie bumped in Brayden and his sister whom Effie sold drugs earlier on, the sister wanted more product but Effie told her to ask Brayden's bestfriend of which Brayden had no knowledge that Tariq was moving product with Effie behind his back.[10]

Apparently Effie is bisexual, which means she do both women and men, and while she was making out with Yuli, Brayden knocked on her door with drugs to move, on his way back he received a call from Effie saying the product he gave her was stepped on. Effie got in a heated argument with a street addict, when Brayden arrived he tried to make a peace treaty but things got out of hands and they had a street brawl. They went to Effie's place and Tariq came in with Diana Tejada (LaToya Tonodeo), Effie and Diana nearly fought over Tariq and accused Effie of stepping on their product which also led to another heated argument til Tariq put a stop to it.[citation needed]
