Efo elegusi

Efo Elegusi is a popular staple soup in West Africa especially amongst yoruba taken with swallow food such as Wheat, Amala,Semo, pounded yam, fufu and some even take it with rice.[1][2][3]

The soup takes about 40 minutes to make . You blend pepper, crayfish,fish and onions then pour it into a pot .Cook for few minutes and serve while hot.

Preparation of efo elegusi[edit]

To prepare egusi soup, you will need the following ingredients

The first step in preparing the soup is to blend the pepper with a little quantity of water,then blend other ingredients such as onion, tomatoes etc. together. Fry the pepper and allow to it cook for 10–15 minutes before adding the egusi, do not stir and add fish and meats.[5][6][7]

Cooking egusi soup takes about 40 minutes and precaution so that it will come out delicious, also don't stir when adding the egusi from the beginning in order allow it to curdle.[8][9]
