Aghayedo Kelvins Eghosa (25 March 1983), known professionally as Eghe Nimose, is a Nigerian musician and producer.[1] He created the genre RumbaDub, a mix of Congolese Rumba with Dub music under which he released "Let You Go" which received massive airplay and positive reviews from critics.[2]

He mainly sings in Bini with English language, and sometimes in Lingala and French.

Early life and education[edit]

Eghe Nimose was born as Aghayedo Kelvins Eghosa in Benin City, Edo State,[3] Nigeria where he grew up and had his basic education at Arinze Primary School. He attended Immaculate Conception College (ICC) and proceeded to the University of Benin (Nigeria) for a diploma in Data Processing, before continuing his post-graduate studies with Dorben Polytechnic for an HND in Computer Science. On September 1, 2020,[2] Eghe Nimose revealed he is chasing a double Masters degree, an M.Sc in Software Engineering with Nasarawa State University and also an MBA with UNICAF.

Music career[edit]

His first appearance in music was in November 8, 2017 when he released a single She's Bad[4] under StarCloud Records label. Eghe announced there was going to be an album release later that year December, 2007 but that never happened, mainly as a result of the poor reception of his debut single.[5] After that, not much was heard of him until March 25, 2020 when he released Stay Home, a short COVID-19 campaign song. He released Let You Go[6] few weeks after, both releases went on to give him a much better audience and recognition.

Style[edit]

His music style is mainly Congolese Rumba, Reggae, Soukous and Dub music with a heavy influence of Koffi Olomide, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Fally Ipupa, Papa Wemba & Ferre Gola. Although a few of his music releases has also reflected a blend of Highlife and Afrobeat.

Debut Album: Rumbad[edit]

October 1st, 2020 Eghe Nimose announces his debut album; Rumbad[7]. A five-track EP in which he featured fellow Nigerian and home-town (Benin) musician Cynthia Morgan, U.S based rapper WorldPlay T. Jay and others artists across the continent. The album was scheduled to be released on the 10th of October, 2020 and under Miracle World Entertainment record label.

Besides music, he also manage EntriFlex Technologies, a software firm in Abuja, Nigeria.[2] In 2007, He won the award of Nigerian Student Software Competition organised by Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and SystemSpecs while a diploma student at University of Benin (Nigeria)[8]. His winning entry was an application he designed and called "EntriFlex BPM"[9] which later formed the name of his tech startup EntriFlex Technologies.

In November 2007, Aghayedo Kelvins Eghosa was nominated as Top ICT Young Innovator for the prestigious ICT Africa Award[10], a NEPAD supported program[11], jointly organized by ForgeAhead, and the South African Department of Communications[12] for organizations and individuals that have demonstrated excellence in promoting the use of ICTs for the overall development of the African continent. This came as a result of his various involvement in grass development of ICT in Nigeria and his software innovations. He also received nominations in other two categories; Top ICT Young Entrepreneur and Top ICT Young Educator; all of which he came out as runner up.
