Eightydays — is an online travel service for automatically generating trips.[1]. The company was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in San Francisco.[2]. Through its website, Eightydays offers a variety of services to facilitate travel.[3]. The algorithm considers factors such as cost, time, airport accessibility, congestion, and others.[3]
History
The first prototype was developed in 2015 during the Garage-48 hackathon in Minsk.[4][5]. An iOS app was released in 2016. That same year, the company received the “Startup of the Year Belarus” award.[6]. In December 2019, Russian designer Artemy Lebedev invested in the travel startup.[7]
Service
Eightydays can be used as a mobile app or a website.[8]. The service generates a detailed trip, up to 20 days long, based on user input including departure city, number of days, destinations, budget, and other criteria.[9][10][11]. The trip must begin and end in the same city. Eightydays allows users to book all tickets and find accommodations (e.g., via Airbnb and Booking.com) directly on the website.[12]
