Electric Loco Shed, Santragachi is a motive power depot performing locomotive maintenance and repair facility for electric locomotives of the Indian Railways, located at Santragachi of the South Eastern Railway Zone in West Bengal, India.
Operation[edit]
Being one of the electric engine sheds in South Eastern Railway, various major and minor maintenance schedules of electric locomotives are carried out here. It has the sanctioned capacity of 50 engine units. Beyond the operating capacity, this shed houses a total of 110 engine units, including 70 WAP 4 and 40 WAP 7. Like all locomotive sheds, SRC does regular maintenance, overhaul and repair including painting and washing of locomotives.[1]
Livery and markings[edit]
SRC WAP-4 has red cherry color livery and cream band. SRC has its own stencils. It is written in bold letters.
