Diesel Loco Shed, Itarsi is an engine shed located in Itarsi, Madhya Pradesh in India. It was established in 1964 with holding of 40 Diesel Locomotives. It is now rated as one of the premier sheds of Indian Railways. It falls under the Bhopal railway division of the West Central Railway zone.

As one of the oldest Diesel Loco Shed, It was opened in the year 1964 with a total no. Of 40 locos.[1]
Operations[edit]
This was the main Diesel Loco Shed that served Diesel Locomotives to the unelectrified Itarsi- Allahabad section. After the electrification of this section it is now servicing Diesel Locomotives to CRS inspections and many unelectrified and remote areas of the country.[2] Two Effluent Treatment plant and Incinerator are also available. It also has canteen facility for the staff members.
