Barnaba, whose full name is Elias Barnabas, is a musician from Tanzania.[1][2][3] His breakthrough song was "“Baby I Love You”" released in 2007.[4] According to a 2018 entry on Ghafla!, he is "one of the most youthful and most conspicuous and effective lyricists cum artists/entertainers in cutting edge Tanzania."[5]

At the People's Choice Award 2015, Barnaba was nominated for Best Artist of the Year and Best Music Video for Wahalade.[2]

His song Nampaga was one of 13 songs banned in 2018 under an obscenity ruling by the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) based on a list of songs from the National Arts Council of Tanzania.[6]
