Elizabeth Marian Frances Scott, Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry (née Lady Elizabeth Kerr; 8 June 1954) is a Scottish noblewoman. She is the daughter of Peter Kerr, 12th Marquess of Lothian, and Antonella Kerr, Marchioness of Lothian, and wife of Richard Scott, 10th Duke of Buccleuch.[1][2]
Biography[edit]
Lady Elizabeth Marian Frances Kerr was born on 8 June 1954 in Shardlow, Derbyshire to Peter Kerr, 12th Marquess of Lothian and his wife, Antonella (née Newland). She has Scottish and English ancestry from her father, and English, Italian and Spanish ancestry from her mother. She has five siblings; Mary, Michael, Cecil, Clare and Ralph.
On 31 October 1981 in Dalkeith, Midlothian, she married Richard Scott, the then-Earl of Dalkeith. They have four children:
- Lady Louisa Jane Therese Montagu Douglas Scott (born 1 October 1982); she married Rupert Trotter on 28 May 2011. They have two children:
- Molly Elizabeth Jane Trotter (born 20 August 2012)
- Robin Peter Trotter (born 21 May 2014)
- Walter John Francis Montagu Douglas Scott, Earl of Dalkeith (born 2 August 1984); he married Elizabeth Hanar Cobbe on 22 November 2014.
- Lord Charles David Peter Montagu Douglas Scott (born 20 April 1987)
- Lady Amabel Clare Alice Montagu Douglas Scott (born 23 June 1992)
Scott is also a patroness of the Royal Caledonian Ball.[3]

As the daughter of a marquess, Scott was styled as Lady Elizabeth Kerr from birth. When she married in 1981, she took the feminine form of her husband's courtesy title, Earl of Dalkeith, with the style Right Honourable. She became Duchess of Buccleuch and Duchess of Queensberry upon her father-in-law's death in 2007.
