Initially, Cannon began posting original content on Youtube beginning with Home Alone[5] after songwriting from an early age - and soon followed these releases with covers of a range of artists including Halsey to positive reception. A demo album titled Cactus Heart was then released onto the same platform and Bandcamp additionally, with a cactus emoji centering the artwork. 2016-2017: Moss Rose[edit]

With production commencing in 2016 from their home in Somerset, Cannon released their 16-track debut album Moss Rose worldwide via Tunecore in January 2017, beginning promotion with a short, stylized vintage trailer edited and designed by Cannon themselves. Following this release, later in the year Cannon self-released Stay Alive featuring twenty one pilots singer Tyler Joseph via Youtube[6] to positive reception and rapidly increasing viewership. In that year, Cannon's subscribers surpassed 500 and monthly listeners on Spotify increased to over 10,000.

2017-2018: Moonlight Swim and Flower Hawk[edit]

After redistributing the Stay Alive project through Spinnup on streaming platforms rather than solely on Youtube, Cannon released two eps[disambiguation needed] respectively called Moonlight Swim and Flower Hawk, with the latter using an art piece of Cannon's for the cover art and the former using a screencap of Cannon's Year 12 media project.

2018: Rose Skin[edit]

In the new year, Cannon advertised the release of a new 5 track project titled Rose Skin on social media[7] available on the 3rd March of the same year on all streaming platforms. They began promotion with an official Spotify playlist titled ellac: inspirations which compiled a comprehensive list of artists who informed the latest release. In addition to this effort was a series of promotional images advertising the project and it's contents.

Musical style and influences[edit]

Cannon has stated their influences as not being limited to musicians, citing Fall Out Boy, twenty one pilots, Frank Ocean, Kanye West, Leonardo DiCaprio and River Phoenix[8] as significantly impacting their music and life.

Personal life[edit]

In January 2017, Cannon began dating a close friend of over a year attending the same college.[9]
