E.P has succeeded tremendously in getting himself recognized and known by many with little help. E.P composed and produced his first album, The Rap Factory, and released it on the music platform SoundCloud in November 2016. He received thousands of likes, comments, and plays on each song within the first week of posting. Following his first album, E.P then went on to pursue a variation of diverse styles on subsequent albums; The Beginning (December 2016) and recently he released The Reunion (January 2017). Since the first posting of his album The Rap Factory E.P's albums have skyrocketed.

Early life[edit]

Elliott Poe was born on November 21, 1997, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In Albuquerque, Elliott lived with his mother Pennie Poe, who owned an after school daycare called Kids On Track, his father Larry Poe, and his older brother Eric Poe. Elliott's father Larry was an entrepreneur who traveled often. Larry was also a minister of a church, Living Faith Ministry, an owner of a magazine, two printing corporations, and a recording company for The Promise Keepers. Elliott's older brother Eric had also wanted to partake in the music industry since a young age; however, he was more interested in the Rock and Roll scene. At nine years old, he picked up his first guitar and never wanted to set it down. He began to write music and later started a band. Soon after Elliott turned four years old, his family relocated to Irving, Texas, due to his father's new job. Elliott started a new school in Irving where there was a strict dress code due to gang violence issues. Elliott recalls this moment in his life as "...a change of scenery I was never exposed to but needed to be." Elliott's early music interest was easily recognized at school and home. The elementary school Elliott attended would regularly call Elliott's parent's informing them that Elliott is not allowed to carry a CD player around while at school. Most days he had to be pulled from the music room for playing on the piano during lunchtime. At home, Elliott would sneak into his older brother's room when he wasn't home and play his electric drums, and try to play his own music. One day while Elliott and his mother were home alone, Elliott's mother peeked through Eric's cracked door to see Elliott on his brother's drum set attempting to make it work. Not too long after that Elliott decided he would perform a song for his mom "to announce his talent." Elliott grabbed his brother's guitar, microphone stands, with no mic, and began to "play" the guitar while singing. Young Poe at the time could only pull a string but was showing his enthusiasm for music at only eight years old.

Elliott's Dark Season in life[edit]

At age ten Poe met his childhood friend, Griff. Griff struggled at home with child abuse, and soon later Griff's father committed suicide. Shortly after meeting Griff, all who were left of Griff's family moved away, and Elliott never heard from him again. Meeting this friend early on exposed Elliott to the harsh realities of other's lives. A couple of months after losing his friend, Elliott became close friends with another boy who was older than him, Jesse. Being three years older than Elliott, Jesse was more mature and had an advanced outlook that Poe had not seen yet. Drugs, sex, and violence were experiences that Elliott claims, "changed me, not to something bad, but good." It helped him mature early on and exposed him to the events in his life for what he would soon use to rap about.

Near age eleven, Elliott's parents got a divorce. Elliott then lived solely with his mother and seldom had visits to his father, when he was not out of the country.

Career[edit]

2015-16: Career Beginnings[edit]

In 2015, E.P began his Hip-Hop/Rap career as an independent artist and producer. That same year, he released his first single She Say feat. Spinx to SoundCloud. In 2016, Elliott then began developing more music and albums, posting it to SoundCloud, which gained much recognition[1] for himself and his music. That year, he created and produced three albums, The Rap Factory, The Beginning, and recently he released The Reunion

2017: New Music and Promotions[edit]

In 2017, E.P began marketing himself in other ways than SoundCloud. He started using the music platform Spinrilla. After E.P released his album THE REUNION[2] on Spinrilla, he quickly gained the interest of Spinrilla D.J.'s (including D.J. Miles, and D.J. Ron Viper). Shortly after releasing his album to Spinrilla, D.J. Ron Viper reached out to E.P to show his desire to feature him in "one of the hottest mixtapes released on Spinrilla," which had only featured "big-name" artists, never incorporating an independent artist like E.P. D.J. Since D.J. Ron Viper's feature of E.P's song, "Elevate"[3] and "Myles Remix".[4] Since then, E.P has been featured on other Spinrilla D.J.'s mixtapes such as D.J. Never Broke.[5] E.P's statistics have grown tremendously on SoundCloud and Spinrilla with over thirteen million plays on SoundCloud[1] and around eighty-seven thousand plays on Spinrilla.[2]
