Elohor Godswill Ekpoho (born 14 May 1995) is a Nigerian footballer who plays for FC Barcelona B as a right back.

Club career[edit]

Born in Benin City, Nigeria, Godswill first arrived at Spain with his family in 2001 when he was just 6 years old. Settling in Tarragona, his first steps in football were given by CDC Torreforta, he later moved to Barcelona's youth categories. Once getting promoted to Cadete "B" under management of coach Víctor Sánchez alongside Sergi Samper, Jean Marie Dongou and Sandro Ramírez, they conquered the 2008 Nike Premier Cup, where he scored a goal in the final against Mexican opponents Pachuca on a 3–1 win at Old Trafford.[1] After his promotion to Cadete "A", Godswill keeps up his skills as a defender or midfielder, the group secured their league title with six matchdays left and won that season's Copa Catalunya after defeating RCD Espanyol on penalties.

Now playing in Juvenil "B" under discipline of Francísco García Pimienta, last seasons' the domestic double repeats itself by winning the league title and the Copa Catalunya from Espanyol once again. When Godswill got promoted to Juvenil "A", he won manager Jordi Vinyals' confidence, Vinyals put all his hope in Godswill to control the defensive area, making him the player with most minutes played for the entire campaign, in that same year the team was eliminated by English side Chelsea F.C. in the 2012–13 NextGen Series Round of 16,[2] at this pace they win the season's División de Honor with an advantage of 22 points on the regular season.

On the next season Godswill still has an important role for the team including that he was now the team captain with his teammate Roger Riera. With all hope on him, he commands the team for another División de Honor regular season title.[3] after this, the team focused on the season's UEFA Youth League, the competition in which he had made 10 appearances and scored 4 goals. In the final in Nyon, the team faced Portuguese side Benfica Juniors and won the match 3–0 making Barcelona the first team to win the competition. On the Copa Catalunya semifinals the team faced Girona, on the same match, Godswill broke his internal meniscus of his right knee in which he needs an operation that will leave him out for the rest of the season.[4]
