Biography
Born in 1998 in Nouakchott, Mauritania, Elwely Vall is a freelance documentary photographer, climate activist,[1] and computer science student at the city university of New York, Vall explores local social and environmental issues in Mauritania and West Africa through visual storytelling strategies. He started his first project, In the light of change, in 2015 [1][2]. His work has been exhibited at the Addis FotoFest, [2] Ethiopia in 2019[3], as well as exhibitions in Mauritania,[4] Algeria, Senegal, United Arab Emirates, Europe, and the United States of America. He is a previous grantee from Magnum foundation [3], Prince Claus fund [5] The Arab Documentary Photography Program[6]
