Emile Ghantous (born May 24, 1975) in Peoria, Illinois, is an American Grammy-nominated and NAACP Award-winning producer,[1][2] who has worked with Charlie Wilson, Pitbull, Frankie J, Prince Royce, JLS, JoJo,[3] and Deniece Williams.[4]
Ghantous produced New District’s 2016 single “Closer,” which received over 1 million video views in its first month,[1] and Now United’s single, “By My Side,” receiving over 300,000 streams, and 3 million video views in less than one week.[2]
He regularly collaborates with Charlie Wilson,[5] and worked on the Grammy-nominated album, "Forever Charlie."[6] He also closely collaborated with Deniece Williams on her 2020 single “When You Love Somebody.”[4]
In 2018, he signed a letter along with Paul McCartney, Don Henley, Carole King, Katy Perry, U2's The Edge, Pink, Sia, and Max Martin boycotting SiriusXM's Music Modernization Act.[7][8]
He was the recipient of an ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in 2018 for his work on Charlie Wilson’s track featuring T.I., “I’m Blessed,”[9] and spoke on an ASCAP panel in 2020 alongside panelists Dan Wilson, Jason Mraz, and Poo Bear.[10][11]
Ghantous' career began while studying at Columbia College Chicago. During that time he worked with Chicago hip hop/rap artists Public Announcement (of R. Kelly fame), Sparkle, and Do or Die.[12]
