Emile Rassam sal is a brand based in Beirut, Lebanon that designs and creates working garments for the hospitality, culinary, F&B, spa and wellness, and corporate industries.

Founding[edit]

Emile Rassam initially worked with his brothers in the second hand garments trade under the company name Michel Rassam & Freres. He later branched out and founded the company, Emile Rassam in 1949 in Beirut, Lebanon, operating in the working garment field and focusing on chefs, kitchen and housekeeping. His early projects included hotels such as the Khouzama in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the Chicago Beach Hotel in Jumeirah, UAE. He later developed his range of products to include corporate ladies wear, men’s suits, and linen.[1]

Second Generation[edit]

In 1993, Emile Rassam took over the business after the civil war in Lebanon. He developed the company internationally and opened offices in the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Under his leadership, the company became ISO Certified and grew to include more than 250 employees, serving 36 countries across 5 continents.[2]

Operations[edit]

The company's approach and business model relies on customization and on creating bespoke solutions for their clients in terms of functionality and aesthetics.[3] The company owns their factories and has an in-house design team. Everything they sell is produced vertically, to ensure quality and consistency in production. Clients include the leading hotels of the world, such as The Four Seasons, The Ritz, and The W Hotel; star chefs, such as Maroun Chedid; and major companies in the corporate, hospitality and wellness industries.[4]

Design Clinic[edit]

The Design Clinic is a concept created by Emile Rassam to address clients' needs and customize a solution that will best represent their brand image and identity while maintaining very high standards. Based in Beirut, the design team works hand-in-hand with interior designers, architects, and other decision makers to achieve unique wardrobes tailor-made to each project.[5]

Philanthropy[edit]

The Emile Rassam Foundation was established in 2010 to commemorate Emile Rassam’s charity work. The foundation works to provide support to less fortunate people in education, medical cases, and health care.

Marketing[edit]

Since 2016, Emile Rassam has been providing the chef contestants of MBC’s Top Chef Middle East with their garments.
