Emilie Ikeda
Emilie Ikeda is a television news correspondent for NBC, reporting across the NBC News and MSNBC platforms. Ikeda joined NBC in 2021 after working as a reporter for FOX affiliate WAGA in Atlanta.[1][2]
A native of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, Ikeda attended American University. She has worked as a multimedia journalist and junior reporter at Philadelphia FOX affiliate WTXF; and as a multimedia journalist, anchor and producer for independent station WDVM in Hagerstown, Maryland, before joining Atlanta-based FOX affiliate WAGA in 2019. Among other topics, she has reported on the 2020 election, the COVID-19 pandemic, the shooting of Ahmaud Arbery, protests against racial injustice and police brutality, Georgia's gubernatorial and Congressional races, Bill Cosby's retrial, Hurricane Florence, and the Parkland school mass shooting.[1]
Ikeda is Japanese-American. Her grandfather was interned at Poston War Relocation Center in Arizona during World War II.[3] In February 2023, Ikeda broke down in tears in front of cameras as she paid her respects to her grandfather in a segment aired on the Today show.
