Ashaly P Joy is a Tamil television journalist and news presenter. She is a news anchor of News18 Tamil Nadu news channel. She hosts the show Reporter18 and has featured in the documentary show Bimbam[3] .

Early Life and Education

Ashaly P Joy was born to Pannakal Varghese Joy, a former Cinematographer and Shirley in Thrissur, Kerala. Ashaly completed her school education from Presentation convent in Coimbatore and later graduated in Physics from PSGR Krishnammal College at Coimbatore. As a college student she was very active in National Cadet Corps and had also attended the Republic Day Camp of NCC in 2012. It was here that she developed an interest in Journalism. She joined PSG College of Arts and Science and took a postgraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication while also appearing in numerous short films.

Career

She did her Master's in journalism and Mass Communication from PSG College of Arts and Science in 2015. She started her journalism career in the same year with Polimer News [4] where she became popular for her stint during the Chennai floods in 2015. She worked in Polimer News for about a year, before joining the newly formed News18 Tamil Nadu [5] in 2016.
