Emily Gabel-Luddy is an American politician in California. Gabel-Luddy is a member of the city council and a former mayor of Burbank, California.

Gabel-Luddy was born in Los Angeles, California.[1][2]

Education[edit]

Gabel-Luddy earned a bachelor's degree from Occidental College. Gabel-Luddy earned a master's degree in landscape architecture from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst .[2]

Career[edit]

Gabel-Luddy started her career as a landscape designer for small parks. Gabel-Luddy joined the City of Los Angeles' Planning Department.[2]

In 2011, Gabel-Luddy won the election and became a member of the city council for Burbank, California, until April 2015.[2]

In May 2013, Gabel-Luddy became the mayor of Burbank, California, until May 2014.[3][4]

In May 2015, as an incumbent, Gabel-Luddy won the election and continued serving as a member of city council in Burbank, California.[5]

In May 2017, Gabel-Luddy became the vice-mayor of Burbank, California. With the death of Will Roger on April 19, 2018, Gabel-Luddy completed his term as an acting mayor, until May 1, 2018.[1][2]

On May 1, 2018, Gabel-Luddy became the mayor of Burbank, California, until December 16, 2019.[3][2][6]
