Emily Marie Roeske (born July 15, 1991) is an American nationally ranked martial artist,[1] and actress. She is known for playing Sophie Piper in the Halloweentown film series.[2]

Career[edit]

At 4-years-old, Emily began taking karate lessons at the Burbank Family Martial Arts school, which was owned by her mother, Ellie Roeske.[1]

In 2007, Emily became a state champion at the Arizona Marrs Open Karate Tournament.[3]

She attended Luther Burbank Middle School, before she went on to graduate from Verdugo Academy on June 19, 2009.[4]

In November 2009, at 18 years-old she won two black-belt championships during the Desert Storm Open Karate Championships in Tempe, Arizona.[1]

In 2017, Roeske joined her former costars at the Spirit of Halloweentown festival in St. Helens, Oregon to honor Debbie Reynolds and the film series.[5][6][7]
