Emin Zamin oghlu Huseynov (Azerbaijani: Emin Zamin oğlu Hüseynov; born 12 November 1974) is an Azerbaijani economist and politician, assistant to the Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan (since 2018), special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Agdam district (since 2021), member of the supervisory boards of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan and "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC, member of the Economic Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, former deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2016–2018).
Biography[edit]
Emin Huseynov was born on November 12, 1974. In 1996 he received his bachelor's degree in international economic relations from the Faculty of Commerce of Azerbaijan State Institute of Economics, and in 1998 he received his master's degree in economics from Florida State University. In 2009, he received his second master's degree in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School. In 2014, Emin Huseynov was given the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics by the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.[1]
He is married and has three children.
Career[edit]
Emin Huseynov worked as economist at the Permanent Representation of the World Bank in Azerbaijan in 1998–2001, and in the office of the Permanent Representative of the International Monetary Fund in Azerbaijan in 2001–2003. In 2003–2005, he worked as country economist at the World Bank office in Azerbaijan.[1]
Emin Huseynov started working at the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2005. In 2005–2007, he worked as director of Studies department, in 2007–2008 as director of Studies and Statistics department, in 2008–2010 as director of the Research department and senior economist at the Central Bank. From 2010 to 2013, he was the director of the Studies and Development Center at the Central Bank, as well as the General Director of the bank.[1]
In 2013–2016, Emin Huseynov worked at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA University) as pro-rector for strategy and development, and in January–July 2016 as pro-rector for scientific affairs and strategy. In March of the same year, he was appointed member of the working group established by the President of Azerbaijan to develop plans on the main directions of the strategic road map for the national economy and key sectors of the economy of Azerbaijan.[2]
By the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 24, 2016, Emin Huseynov was appointed Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan[3] and held this position until August 28, 2018.[4] On the same day, he was appointed assistant to the First Vice-president of the Republic of Azerbaijan.[5]
On December 26, 2017, Emin Huseynov was appointed member of the Board of Trustees of the Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan.[6] Later, on September 9, 2020, he became a member of the Economic Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan.[7] On January 23, 2021, and March 30, 2021, he was appointed member of the supervisory boards of State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan[8] and "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC respectively.[9]
On May 24, 2021, Emin Huseynov was appointed the special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated part of Agdam district.[10]
On June 22, 2019, Emin Huseynov was awarded 3rd degree,[11] and on June 18, 2020, the 2nd degree[12] state adviser ranks in the first classification of administrative positions.
