Early life and college[edit]
Born in Warner Robins, Georgia, Henry attended Northside High School in Warner Robins.[1] While at Northside, he served as both a manager and a volunteer assistant coach.
After graduation in 1993 from Northside High School in his hometown Warner Robins, Georgia, Henry enrolled at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, where he became a women's basketball student manager under Marynell Meadors. After his sophomore year, he transferred to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, where he was a student manager under then Ohio head coach Larry Hunter.[2] Henry earned his B.S. in communication studies from Ohio University in 1998.[2]
Coaching career[edit]
Henry was an assistant coach at his alma mater, Northside High School. After one season, he left to become an assistant coach at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. From Florida Southern, Henry moved to Frank Phillips College, then to Georgia Southern, and served a brief stint at East Texas Baptist University.[3]
He later moved on to Mercer University where he remained as an assistant, until accepting a position with the women's basketball program at Texas State University where he was named Associate Head Coach in 2008 where he remained until 2011.[4]
