Emmanuel Preissmann (born 4 June 1950) is a French and Swiss chess FIDE Master (FM), French Chess Championship silver medalist (1977).

Biography[edit]

In the 1970s Emmanuel Preissmann was one of the leading French chess players. He participated in the finals of the French Chess Championships many times and in 1977 in Le Touquet won silver medal.[1] Emmanuel Preissmann later moved to Switzerland and also participated in the finals of the Swiss Chess Championships.

  • In 1983, at sixth board in the 8th European Team Chess Championship preliminaries (+0, =1, -1).

Emmanuel Preissmann played for France in the World Student Team Chess Championships:[4]

  • In 1969, at second reserve board in the 16th World Student Team Chess Championship in Dresden (+4, =0, -3),
  • In 1972, at second board in the 19th World Student Team Chess Championship in Graz (+4, =4, -2),
  • In 1974, at third board in the 20th World Student Team Chess Championship in Teesside (+0, =2, -1).

Emmanuel Preissmann played for France in the Men's Chess Mitropa Cup:[5]

  • In 1977, at second board in the 2nd Chess Mitropa Cup in Bad Kohlgrub (+2, =2, -1) and won team bronze medal.
