Md. Enayet Chowdhury (Bengali: মোঃ এনায়েত চৌধুরী) is a Bangladeshi academic, writer, and YouTuber known for creating informative and explanatory content.[1][2] Besides digital content creation, Chowdhury is a lecturer at the Institute of Water and Flood Management at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).[3] He is a member of the Trinomial Podcast.[4]
Early life and education
Chowdhury completed his secondary and higher secondary education at Ideal School and College (Motijheel) and Notre Dame College.[5] He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).[6] During his study at BUET, he worked as a research assistant in the Department of Civil Engineering.[7]
Academic career
He is a Lecturer at the BUET Institute of Water and Flood Management.[8][9][10] Previously, he was a Lecturer at the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology. He started his research career in 2017 with a project on River Training Work for the Padma River and has since expanded his interests to include rainfall simulation, slope stability, low-cost slope management with vegetation, infiltration modeling, and flood forecasting.[11]
Currently, he is working on a project to develop a Flash Flood Early Warning System for the Haor region of Bangladesh, including capacity building and knowledge management. He is also integrating two software programs (HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS) into the Delft-FEWS flood forecasting system's Graphic User Interface with the help of Deltares.[12] Additionally, he is providing technical assistance to Oxfam in Bangladesh to create a guideline for Community-led Riverbank Management.[11] He's a participator at the World Bank's "IdeaBuzz: Youth Empowered Climate-Smart Solutions."[13]
Content creation
Chowdhury's digital content is known for its approach to presenting complex, contemporary issues in an easy-to-understand manner, often incorporating humor and satire.[1][14] He began his journey as a content creator out of frustration with the lack of quality infotainment in the country and a desire to fill the void.[1][4][15] Chowdhury is influenced by Jamilur Reza Choudhury.[15] He makes content in Bangla despite acknowledging that it might have resulted in a larger audience and more revenue if he had chosen English.[15]
