The ENHANCE Alliance is a European university alliance, consisting of 7 alliance universities in 6 European countries. The member institutions share a research-intensive science and technology profile.

ENHANCE aims to create an "innovative framework of European networks, fostering increased student and staff mobility as well as innovative forms of learning and engagement with society":[1].

The network was formed in response to the European Commission's European Universities Initiative launched in 2017, which aims to create several transnational alliances of universities across Europe.[2] ENHANCE is thus part of the ERASMUS+ funding programme for European Universities.

The alliance has no formal headquarter and shares responsibilities across member universities. The operational office (coordinating meetings and budget), however, is located at TU Belin.

  • Empowering people: Enabling new teaching opportunities so that "students and researchers can reach their full potential, regardless of their socioeconomic or cultural background".[5]
  • Society: Ensuring the transfer of results by keeping close relations with "industry, politics, and society".[6]

To reach these goals, the alliance focuses on seven key activities:[7]

  • Transdisciplinary Catalyst, co-creating knowledge with academics, students and societal stakeholders.
  • Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Innovation, a joint ecosystem to support sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation.
  • One Campus, aimed at seamless mobility for staff and students.
