Enhanced Music is an independent, UK-based electronic dance music record label founded by Will Holland and co-owned by Austin, Texas-based DJ/production duo Tritonal. Operating under the motto "Music Sounds Better When It’s Enhanced," the label is home to artists in the EDM, trance and progressive genres such as Tritonal, Estiva, Lange, Aruna, Juventa and was the label which discovered and developed artists such as Arty and Audien. To date, Enhanced's output includes over 1100 releases, including over 800 singles and EP's, 25 full-length albums and hundreds of digital compilations.

Will Holland, Founder[edit]

Drawn to the world of underground dance music, Will Holland discovered DJing and producing in his early teens and was soon a regular in the UK trance scene, playing at superclubs like Passion, Slinky, and Wildchild, where he was made resident in October 2005. In January 2005, he began a residency with the influential club brand Gatecrasher, which later lead to a partnership with the current leader in the northern UK trance scene, Digital Society where Will has been involved in events since 2007 and remains the resident DJ.

2005—2010: Early years[edit]

Will Holland's DJ’ing had raised his profile amongst the leading names in trance and he released several original productions under the Platipus and Bonzai labels before remixing for Mike Koglin, Neo & Farina. Around the same time, Will launched his Enhanced Recordings label as nothing more than a ‘serious’ hobby in his spare time and outlet for his own releases but soon had attracted the attention of other industry players with releases from Gareth Emery, Markus Schulz and more. Enhanced Music was registered as an Ltd Company in the UK in 2008 and became the parent company for all subsequent sub-labels under the main label's umbrella.

By 2010, tracks released on Enhanced were receiving support from leading DJs like Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond through their worldwide radio shows and live sets. Will continued to release his own originals and mixes exclusively through the label, including four 'Compilation Of The Month' selections from Mixmag and the critically acclaimed ‘Digitally Enhanced’ series, which ended in 2013 with its sixth edition.

2011—present: Releases and accolades[edit]

Enhanced is credited for discovering artists such as Arty, Estiva, and Audien and has developed the careers of Tritonal and Juventa. The label has released nine Beatport #1 singles, 74 Top 10s in various genres, and 476 Top 50s since May 2010, leading DJ Mag to declare Enhanced "the most consistent trance label on the planet."

Enhanced has received accolades as "the label that delivers tune after tune" (Mixmag),[citation needed] "one of the most famous trance labels today" (Armin van Buuren),[citation needed] and "one of the most consistent labels in Dance music and deserves all the praise it's getting from the industry" (Above & Beyond).[citation needed]

Tritonal partnership[edit]

On April 16, 2013, Austin-based DJ and production duo Tritonal (Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed) announced via social media that they would be joining Will Holland as co-owners and directors of Enhanced. Tritonal have partnered with Enhanced for the majority of their musical releases, the first being their "Somnium" EP in 2008. In 2010 they formed the sub-label Air Up There Recordings, which has released tracks by Super8 & Tab, Ben Gold, Juventa, Ilan Bluestone, Norin & Rad and more.

In 2011 Tritonal's debut artist album "Piercing the Quiet" was released on Enhanced Music and produced eight top 20 Beatport singles, including five that held the #1 position on the trance chart for over three weeks. In September 2012, they released the follow-up album "Piercing The Quiet Remixed," which landed in the top 5 on the iTunes dance albums chart.

Will's friendship with Tritonal and a shared vision for the future of Enhanced led to Chad and Dave being brought on as Directors of the label with a view to assist in the A&R of the label and development of key artists.

The show was taken weekly due to demand on 7 February 2011. Now at 240 episodes and counting, Tritonal took over hosting duties in March 2013 and the show airs every Monday on di.fm at 7pm CET, 6pm, BST, 1pm ET, and 10am PT. On 14 July 2013 the show celebrated 200 episodes with a 24-hour broadcast featuring Tritonal, Will Holland and artists from the Enhanced labels. The Show celebrated 300 episodes on 14 June 2015, and offered another 24-hour broadcast, as well as launching a website where listeners can stream to the show.

In addition, four double-disc compilations were released under this name; the last one was released in 2014.
