Eporner is a global pornographic media and social networking site. Eporner serves user-submitted pornographic videos, webcam models, pornographic photographs, and erotic literature and incorporates social networking features. Eporner was founded in 2008. With more than 10 million members, it is the 9th-most popular pornography website on the Internet in front of OnlyFans. As of February 2024,[update] Eporner was the 87th-most trafficked website in the world.[1] It is surpassed in ranking by competitor sites XVideos, Hamster, Pornhub, as well as the adult webcam site Chaturbate. The site has been blocked by some governments as part of the larger initiatives against Internet pornography.
HTTPS
In November 2016, Eporner announced to their advertisers that the website would start using HTTPS encryption and HTTP/2 as of December 2016.
In December 2016, Eporner became one of the first major adult websites to incorporate HTTPS encryption for their visitors. HTTPS allows for privacy, malware protection, and integrity of information exchange.[2] The main reason for the usage of HTTPS was to protect its visitors because Eporner receives millions of visitors from countries where pornography is not legal.
Censorship
Eporner has been blocked by various governments. The website was blocked by the Great Firewall in China in April 2016.[3][4]
Russian state watchdog Roskomnadzor, which is known in English as the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media blocked the Eporner website in September 2016 in Russia, due to "spreading harmful information to children".[5]
Government regulatory body of the communications sector, Uganda Communications Commission in a letter dated July 6th, 2018 blocked access to 26 pornographic sites including Eporner.[6]
German law does not allow hardcore pornography without an effective age verification system[7], and the German Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons placed Eporner on its index. As a result in 2020, the German site on the Google search engine (google.de) classified Eporner.com as a hardcore pornography website and it is blocked in Germany. [8]
Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology asked the Department of Telecommunications on October 25 2018 to block 827 websites named in the list issued as part of the order, with Eporner being one of them.[9]
History
The domain name was registered by a company in April 8, 2008. Eporner's site shows that the company headquarters is located in Hong Kong. [10] The website as being indepened, is managed by owners, not network.
In 2008, as one of the first major pornographic video sites, Eporner had its social networking features. Users have detailed profile pages, incorporating their profile picture and gender, as well as user-produced photo and video content. It had the largest collection of full HD quality pornographic videos on the Internet, and became a pioneer in providing online pornographic material in full HQ quality. Eporner enabled full service (uploading and watching) video in 1080p quality in 2011. In 2012, the website enabled uploading and watching videos in 60FPS.[11]
Eporner became one of the first major pornographic video-sharing websites with free Ultra HD (4K resolution) videos in 2015, and first with this service available for users for free.
Eporner became the first pornographic site video-sharing website with free Virtual Reality videos.[12]
ACTA-2
Eporner was one of the first pornographic websites to oppose the introduction of ACTA-2 agreement in Europe. The site supported the collection of signatures and writing letters to the representatives of the European Union.[13] The petition initiated by Eporner, and signed by more than 15,000 Polish creators and more than 20,000 Poles, affected Polish President Andrzej Duda to oppose ACTA2.[14]
Unblocking
Famous news website Mashable owned by Ziff Davis published an article on how to unblock popular sites like Pornhub, XNXX, or Eporner.[15]
