Prantle is an online video-sharing and social media platform operated by Prantle Inc., USA and Prantle Limited, Nigeria. Prantle was first launched on 18 April 2018 as "Jawonsi" in Lagos, Nigeria.
Prantle's business model centers around providing creators with opportunities to monetize their videos based on viewership.
History[edit]
Prantle first launched in 2018 as "Jawonsi", by its parent company, Prantle Limited. Jawonsi Media Service Limited was founded by Mogbolahan Ojeyinka in 2018. It was temporarily shut down in 2019 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prantle had its re-launch event in Lagos, Nigeria, in April 2020 and in Delaware, USA, in November 2022. Prantle has its headquarters in Nigeria and offices in the USA. The name 'Prantle" was derived from the word rantle, which means "to wander around with no particular aim explicitly in mind, but with an anti-social air."
Prantle introduced the education content feature to enable users to learn skills and knowledge.
