Erastus Bankole Akingbola MON, FCIB, FNIM (born 26 October 1950) is a Nigerian banker, investor and philanthropist. He was the former group managing director (GMD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of Intercontinental Bank and its affiliates.[1][2] He is the founder and chairman of Tropics Finance and Investment Company and Inspiration 92.3 FM[3][4] and also a former chairman of Associated Discount House limited.

Early life[edit]

Erastus Akingbola was born on 26 October 1950 in Ilesa, Osun State in Western Nigeria. He hails from Oke-Igbo, Ondo State[5] in Western Nigeria. He went to Christ's School, Ado Ekiti between 1965 and 1969. He thereafter studied for and obtained the Associate Diploma of the Institute of Bankers, AIB, London, in 1975.[6]
