Erik Sigerud (born 1977, Borlänge, Sweden, is a visual artist working mainly with painting. His paintings represent spatial structures. These contain figurations of the private, linguistic weavings and abstractions.[1] His work questions categorizations, explores the relation between appearance and reality, and paints the political in a contemporary context.[2] He lives and works in Stockholm.
Early life and education
Sigerud grew up in Falun and Västerås, in Sweden. In 2004, he graduated with an M.F.A. from École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France.
Work
Sigerud's work mixes figurative and abstract painting and depicts confrontations between personal perspectives and normative images of contemporary events.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]
