Ernest Proud
Ernest Proud also known as Ernest Barton Proud (fl. ?-?) was an English amateur goalkeeper. In club football, he played for Bishop Auckland F.C..[1][2]
Career
He played 3 matches and conceded 3 goals in these matches. [3] In the 20 April 1908 match against Germany (win by 5:1) that was Germany team's first home match, there were two penalty kicks given against England. The referee of that match was from the opposing country, Germany: Paul Neumann. Fritz Förderer missed (shot over) the first penalty and converted the second kick accordingly in the 15th and 20th minutes. [4][5]
