History[edit]

In 1956, a small group of Scandinavian trade entrepreneurs began to meet regularly. In this so-called Stockholm Club[3], they exchanged views on their foreign trade activities and challenges with foreign governments. Shortly afterwards, British, German and Dutch entrepreneurs also joined this club. In 1971, the CITHA association was founded as an umbrella organization of its then ten national member associations.[4]

Organization[edit]

The association is headed by a board with a president. German entrepreneur Jan Krückemeyer has been president of the association since 2017.[5] He succeeded Hans-Jürgen Müller, who held this office from 2010 to 2016.[6] The vice president is Spanish entrepreneur Antonio Bonet.[7] Operational business is managed by the Secretary General. The Secretary General is Gregor Wolf. The secretariat is provided by the Federal Association of German Export Trade (BDEx). The office of the association is located in Brussels (Avenue des Nerviens 85, 3rd floor, B-1040).
