The European Training network Of PhD researchers on Innovative EMI analysis and power Applications (ETOPIA) is a project funded by European Union's Horizon 2020[1] research program. It is an integrated doctoral training network project based on research in low-frequency conducted EMC.
Overview[edit]
The ETOPIA project initiative started in 2019 with the aim to solve the coexistence issues between power lines and distributed power electronics, especially in low frequency and conducted EMI, including power quality effects. The European Union funded the ETOPIA project in 4 years from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2023[2] by programme The H2020-EU.1.3.1 )[3] under MSCA-ITN-EJD - European Joint Doctorates funding scheme. As a part of MSCA-ITN-2018 - Innovative Training Networks,[4] the aim of ETOPIA initiative is to train such researchers, strongly linking and embedding them to industry to bridge the perceived gap between research and industry in this innovative EMI analysis field. On 7 January 2019, the ETOPIA project launched 12 ESR (Early Stage Researcher) positions.[5]
Also, the ETOPIA scientific objectives are to develop and integrate advanced methods to model, design, evaluate, measure and monitor economical measures for a safe, reliable, efficient and greener electrical power system.[6]
Participants[edit]
The following six universities are participants:
- University of Twente (UT)
- University of Craiova (UC)
- Politecnico di Milano (PM)
- Leibniz University Hannover (UH)
- University of Zielona Gora (UZ)
- University of Nottingham (UN)
In addition, participants include sixteen industry companies and institutes, and two international organisations (IEEE EMC Society Technical Committee 7: ("Low-Frequency EMC") and Nederlandse EMC-ESD Vereniging (EMC-ESD)).
