Exceptional Responders

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

{{#set:Bad_content=nn }} {{#set:Bad_content= }}

In cancer research, exceptional responders are patients who have had responded exceptionally well to therapies. Studies of exceptional responders seek to identify the molecular changes in patients' tumours that may potentially explain exceptional responses to different treatments, in the hope of developing novel therapies. Such studies are enabled by the wider availability of next-generation sequencing technologies for molecular level profiling of cancer patients. Previously, such studies were possible only in large institutions and comprehensive cancer centres, and were limited by number of patients profiled there.
